WEPLAY ANIMAJOR
Location: Kyiv
Role: Head of CG
Nominated
In June 2021, during strict COVID restrictions, WePlay Esports hosted the AniMajor in Kyiv, the first Dota 2 Major LAN event since the pandemic began. With no spectators allowed, the stakes were high and online audiences expected more than gameplay. I directed the creative production, guiding broadcast graphics, stage visuals, cinematics and live integration, ensuring a seamless anime inspired design across the show.
The immersive concept brought the in game world to life with a bold Japanese anime theme, making AniMajor one of the most watched Dota 2 Majors ever. The broadcast redefined how esports could deliver atmosphere and spectacle in remote conditions, keeping fans deeply engaged despite empty stands. In 2022, the project was recognized at the Sports Emmy Awards, where WePlay AniMajor was shortlisted for Outstanding Esports Championship Coverage.
